As we near the end of the Beasts of the Black Hand campaign, we thought we'd let the pages speak for themselves. So without further ado, we present the first six pages, colored and lettered, to give you a real taste of our graphic novel. The last remaining pages of the graphic novel are being drawn and colored now, so Volume 1 will be complete within weeks.
Created by Paul Harding, written by Ron Marz, illustrated by Matthew Dow Smith, colored by Neeraj Menon, and published by Ominous Press, Volume 1 of the Beasts of the Black Hand graphic novel will reach backers in February. The 64-page hardcover will contain 48 pages of art and story, preview pages from Volume 2, plus extensive concept and design sketches. There's still time to pledge for the digital or print versions of the graphic novel, variant dust jackets, and a host of other reward tiers.

We’ve got a lot to be thankful for! As we enter our last week of the campaign, we've made our initial funding goal thanks to the wonderful support of our backers. Now we're pushing to meet our stretch goals, so we can make Beasts of the Black Hand bigger and better!
Our first stretch goal is close. Once we hit $27,000, our creative team of Paul Harding, Ron Marz, Matt Smith, and Neeraj Menon will produce four pages from our planned Volume 2, to be included in this edition, giving backers a taste of the next chapter of our story. At $30,000, we'll add spot varnish to the cover of the hardcover graphic novel, making for a truly memorable package. At $35,000, we'll add another four pages of Volume 2, for an eight-page preview. And we have a very special mystery goal planned for when we reach $40,000, a goal that will be revealed when we break the $30,000 threshold.
Your pledges and social-media support have made Beasts of the Black Hand a reality. We're grateful for your support, and with your help, we can finish strong in our last week, and make Beasts the best it can be!

Thanks to you, we've cleared the first Beasts of the Black Hand first stretch goal! We've crossed the $27,000 barrier, as well as the 500-backer mark! That means the first stretch reward has been unlocked: Volume 1 will include four preview pages from the next chapter of the story, written by Ron Marz, with art by Matthew Dow Smith and Neeraj Menon, utilizing the characters and concepts created by Paul Harding.
The next stretch goal in sight is $30,000, which will unlock spot varnish for the awesome Matthew Dow Smith cover. Crossing the $30,000 threshold will also reveal what our $40,000 stretch goal will be. And, of course, $35,000 will unlock another four preview pages to be added to Volume 1. We still have great rewards like the Beasts box, the print set of all our covers, and the Mike McKone original cover art. We have only a few days left in the campaign, but with your help, we can finish strong!
Achievements and New Social Goal!

We've had some amazing achievements so far with Beasts of the Black Hand. Our newly-minted Facebook page has reach over 500 likes, and our Twitter account has over 250 followers.
We've set a new Kickstarter Social Goal to BLAST through! If we reach 1,000 Facebook followers and 500 Twitter followers, all print reward backers will receive a giant Beasts of the Black Hand Logo Sticker designed by Kana Harding!

BEASTS Makes Goal!

Thanks to you, the Beasts have been unleashed! Today we cleared our funding goal, meaning that Beasts of the Black Hand Volume 1 is a reality! We are forever grateful to our backers, and everyone who helped us spread the word about our project.
Matthew Dow Smith has only a handful of pages from Volume 1 left to draw, and colorist Neeraj Menon is following closely behind him, so we will be finished with the entire graphic novel by mid-December. We'll need a few weeks for production and print prep, meaning the book will be off the printer by early January. Depending on printing schedules, we expect to have the printed books in hand by the end January, and immediately start shipping out to backers. Your copy of Beasts should be in your hands no later than February.
We'll be announcing stretch goals shortly, including a preview of Volume 2, as well as other rewards. Again, thank you for your support. Beasts of the Black Hand is a reality because of you!
