Marc Laming Variant Cover Art
As we button up the last few bits of Beasts of the Blast Hand Volume 1 for press, we thought we'd show off the final art for Marc Laming's variant dustjacket. We're so thankful that Marc was able to work our cover into his incredibly busy schedule, and that the finished piece is so ... well, incredible! Our stars Oswald Rayner and Maria Rasputin have never looked better!
Marc's cover will be one of the options you can select as a special dustjacket, along with images by Eric Powell, Meghan Hetrick, Mike McKone, and Mark A. Nelson. A collection of all the covers also is offered as an Art Print Set.

Taking It to the Matt

Our brilliant Beasts of the Black Hand artist, Matthew Dow Smith, is finished with Volume 1 of our dark tale, and working on pages for Volume 2. But Matt took time to appear on Death Wish Coffee's popular podcast, Fueled by Death Cast. Matt talks about his career as both an artist and writer in comics, and of course about Beasts of the Black Hand. Give a listen!
The last pages of Volume 1 are colored, and the lettering is in the home stretch, so we'll be sending off the Beasts of the Black Hand files to the printer not later than the end of the month. We'll have printed copies in hand in February, and begin shipping them out immediately. We think you're going to love it!

Happy New Year from the Beasts of the Black Hand crew! We just wanted to catch up with all of our backers and let you know that everything is proceeding as planned. We're putting the finishing touches on Volume 1 now, and will be sending the book off to press later this month.
Within the next few weeks, you will receive a survey from Backerkit so we can gather information, addresses, and prepare to get your rewards to you. We appreciate your continued support so much. You're the ones who made this possible. We already have Volume 2 underway, so we'll be telling you more about that in the coming months!

Color Rough of Marc Laming's Variant Cover
With the holidays upon is, we wanted to wish you the best of the season, as well as a Happy New Year!
We're pleased to report that Matthew Dow Smith has completed all of his artwork for Volume 1 of Beasts of the Black Hand. Colorist Neeraj Menon is close behind him, so we'll have all the artwork wrapped up quite soon. Lettering, design and production will take us a few weeks into the New Year, and then we'll be scheduling our print run. With printing, delivery, fulfillment, and shipping, we still expect to have Beasts of the Black Hand in your hands in February.
We've already started work on Volume 2, so be on the lookout for news in the coming months!

The Beasts of the Black Hand graphic novel will be in the hands of backers in February. But we wanted to give you a peek of a very special, very limited version of Beasts that was printed last month. With some secret (!) meetings on the horizon, we went to press for a handful of 48-page hardcover preview copies of Beasts at standard comic size. The book includes the first 15 pages of story, colored and lettered, as well as a cover gallery and an extensive gallery of concept and character designs. We thought we'd share a flip-though video to whet your appetite.
